Anniversary is a sonata for violin and piano in 3 movements. It is of intermediate difficulty for both the violin and piano and it is romantic and lyrical in style. Strident octave chords in the piano herald the opening, returning in the last movement. In between, there are several cadenza opportunities for the violin. A contemplative slow movement is rounded off by a fast syncopated allegro - challenging, but fun to play. Duration is approx. 14 mins (7:00; 4:45; 2:15).
