Three Tone Studies are early compositions of John Bartlett. They explore various aspects of tonality. The Prelude, Les Ombres Solaires (the sunny shadows) explores chordal harmonies of light and shade. Interlude is a short piece exploring note juxtapositions and Adverse Camber is a twelve tone exercise. All are approachable and make a worthwhile set of exercises for any pianist:-
